Thirty-two Ethiopian prisoners who were released from prisons in Egypt after prime minister Abiy Ahmed negotiated their release with Egyptian president Abdul Fetah al Sisi. The prime minister seemingly decided to return them to Ethiopia with him boarding the same Ethiopia Airlines plane.

His action and decisiveness has touched, it is possible to say from prevalent remarks on social media, the hearts of Ethiopians in a good way. Ethiopians seem to feel, although much remains to be done, that they now have a prime minister who cares about Ethiopia and Ethiopians.

Many of the prisoners says that they didn’t expect that his would happen. They emotionally recount their experiences in Egyptian prisoners. Watch the video below (Amharic)
